The Hard Quartet Tickets

The Hard Quartet are a band. But what is a band? A band, perhaps, can be considered a body, an organism in which physically distinct entities form a chimera that screams with one voice. In this particular band, four musicians selflessly merge to become music and emit a rock ‘n’ roll that is familiar but new, warm but icy, melodic but elusive like the Sphinx, with its seductive and subtle enigmas... In essence, The Hard Quartet have levelled, cultivated and made lush a new steppe in the ecosystem of guitar-bass-drums-vocals music. The Hard Quartet are: - Emmett Kelly, songwriter, guitarist and vocalist, known for his work with The Cairo Gang and The Double, as well as collaborations with artists such as Bonnie ‘Prince’ Billy, Ty Segall, Rob Mazurek and many others. - Stephen Malkmus, singer-songwriter, guitarist and vocalist, known for his work with Pavement, The Jicks, Silver Jews, Straw Dogs and as a solo artist. - Matt Sweeney, singer-songwriter, guitarist and vocalist, known for his work with Chavez, Superwolf, Superwolves and collaborations with artists such as Guided by Voices, Cat Power, Johnny Cash and Neil Diamond. - Jim White, drummer and songwriter, known for his work with Dirty Three, Xylouris White and for collaborations with Guy Picciotto, Cat Power, Bill Callahan and Venom P Stinger. Four titans, basically. And now, here they are, today, forming a band they have decided to call The Hard Quartet, an amalgamation of their utterly unique and unconventional voices.
