Madness Tickets

One of the key bands of the ska revival of the late 70s and early 80s along with Bad Manners, The Specials, The Selecter and The Beat, Madness formed from The North London Invaders (Mike Barson, Chris Foreman and Lee Thompson). Both the group name and their debut single The Prince are a tribute to the Jamaican composer and songwriter Prince Buster, the idol of the British phenomenon from Camden. Throughout their career, Madness have incorporated Motown, soul and British pop elements into their sound.

In only six years (1980-198), Madness spent a record-breaking 214 weeks in the UK singles chart. 15 Madness songs landed on the Top Ten in the UK and Ireland charts, including One Step Beyond, Baggy Trousers, It Must Be Love, House of Fun, House of Fun and Wings of a Dove. In 2000, the band of Night Boat to Cairo was awarded the Ivor Novello Award for Outstanding Song Collection by the British Academy of Songwriters, Composers and Authors.

Filmed at the London Palladium theater in the West End and designed by Madness and Charlie Higston, the online streaming concert The Get Up on May 14 was a one-off joyful multi-camera event with classics and new songs by Madness that saw the participation of many special guests, while Mike Barson played Queen Elizabeth.
