Macklemore, stage name of Benjamin Hammond Haggerty, is an American rapper and singer-songwriter of Irish descent.

The international hitmaker released his first album, The Language of My World, in 2005. In 2009 Mackelmore released The Unplanned Mixtape, which ranked seventh in the Hot R&B/Hip Hop on iTunes: the mixtape features his debut single, The Town.

The turning point has been in 2006, when Macklemore met for the first time Ryan Lewis and their collaboration began: in 2009 the two have officially formed the musical duo Macklemore & Ryan Lewis, reaching the international success with two albums, The Heist in 2012 and This Unruly Mess I’ve Made in 2016, and several hit singles, including Thrift Shop feat. Wanz, Downtown feat. Melle Mel, Grandmaster Caz, Kool Moe Dee, Eric Nally, Can’t Hold Us feat. Ray Dalton and Same Love feat. Mary Lambert. Ryan Lewis won four Grammy Awards, three MTV VMAs, two MTV EMAs and two American Music Awards.

Following the end of the partnership with Ryan Lewis, on 22 September 2022 he released his solo album GEMINI, which features the single Glorious feat. Skylar Grey, Marmalade feat. Lil Yatchy and Good Old Days feat. Kesha. GEMINI is an album with many collaborations, including Offset, Dan Caplen and others.

Throughout his career, Macklemore also collaborated on the hit These Days with Rudimental and Jess Glynne and collaborated with artists such as Martin Garrix, Summer Days, Why Don’t We, Ed Sheeran, Chance the Rapper and Queen Latifah.

In 2022 Macklemore released the singles CHANT feat. Tones And I, MANIAC feat. Windser and FAITHFUL feat. NLE Choppa and announced that the new album, BEN, will be released on 3 March 2023.
