About
Formed in 1980 in Leeds, England, The Sisters Of Mercy take their name from the Leonard Cohen song of the same name.
While experimenting with different genres, the dark-rock band led by Andrew Eldritch has remained true to its iconic dark style, influenced by The Velvet Underground and The Stooges .
The Sisters Of Mercy have joined the dark Olympus alongside Siouxsie and The Banshees, The Cure, Bauhaus and Joy Division.
Their biggest hits include Alice, a cover of Gimme Shelter by The Rolling Stones, Vision Thing and Temple Of Love.
