Jovanotti, stage name of Lorenzo Cherubini, is one of the most loved songwriters by the Italian public. Lorenzo approached music in the ‘80’s when he started to work as DJ for a local radio of Crotona, Abruzzo, and for the club Tuchulcha. Back in Rome, Lorenzo continued his DJ career until he reached Veleno, one of the most important clubs of the Capital, where he met Fiorello and the producer Giancarlo Meo.

1987 is one of the most important years for Jovanotti’s career: besides debuting with the songs Walking and Reggae 87 he was noticed by Claudio Checchetto’s wife while working. Cecchetto signed Jovanotti as TV presenter for Deejay Television and as DJ for Radio Deejay where he become one of the most prominent figures. This marked the beginning of a golden period for the artist, topped off by the release of the debut album Jovanotti for President including the successful songs Go Jovanotti Go, Gimme Five and The Rappers.

After a period of absence due to the military service, in 1992 Jovanotti put out the album Lorenzo 1992 which has consecrated his career with songs like Non m’annoio and Ragazzo Fortunato becoming part of the Italian collective imagination.

Among the most famous songs of Jovanotti we can recall Serenata Rap taken off Lorenzo 1994, Bella included in Lorenzo 1997 – L’Albero, Per Te from Lorenzo 1999 – Capo Horn, Mi Fido di Te included in Buon Sangue of 2005, A Te featured in Safari of 2008, Il Più Grande Spettacolo Dopo il Big Bang from Ora of 2011, the hits of 2015 l’Estate Addosso and Sabato and Oh, Vita! taken off the homonymous album of 2017 produced by Rick Rubin (Red Hot Chili Peppers, Run DMC, Beastie Boys, Johnny Cash, Imagine Dragons).

Throughout his career Lorenzo has collaborated with the important national and international artist such as Gianna Nannini for Radio Baccano, Ligabue and Piero Pelù for Il Mio Nome è Mai Più, Jarabe de Palo, Sérgio Mendes, Giuliano Sangiorgi, Ben Harper, Michael Franti, Cesare Cremonini, Tiziano Ferro in Balla per Me and RKOMI for Canzone.

Jovanotti is one of the sweeping Italian artists to see live, performing at the most important Italian stages. For this reason the Jova Beach Party was born, a tour which brought Jovanotti to perform at the most famous beaches of the Italian shore in front of million fans from all over the country. The tour ended with an exclusive concert at Milano Linate airport in 2019. Jova Beach Party become also an album released in 2019 including eight unreleased tracks with special guests such as come Dardust, Charlie Charles, Cacao Mental and the famous DJ Ralf.

The latest work of Jovanotti is Lorenzo Sulla Luna, the artist’s first album of covers. Lorenzo Sulla Luna includes covers of songs with the word “Luna”, moon, in the lyrics and released after July 20 1969, the day when Armstrong ad Aldrin landed for the first time on the moon.

In 2022 Jovanotti released Il Disco Del Sole, which features the collaborations with Sixpm, Canzoniere Grecanico Salentino, Enzo Avitabile, A Bottari, Jude & Frank, Afrotronix and Ackeejuice Rockers.
