Diego Basso distinguishes himself as a very talented Italian conductor. He served as music director in the 2018 Sanremo Young programme on Rai 1 and is at the helm of the Sanremo Young Orchestra. Among his recent engagements, he has conducted orchestras and edited arrangements for the editions of MUSIC on Canale 5 and Viva Mogol! on Rai 1, as well as participating in Il Volo's tours in Italy, Europe and America. Basso collaborates with important Italian and foreign theatres, conducting national and international orchestras of various genres, including pop, rock and symphonic.

In 2004, Diego Basso founded the Orchestra Ritmico Sinfonica Italiana, consisting of over 100 musicians, with a youth section of 40 members aged between 18 and 25. This project is inspired by the great orchestras of the 1970s, ranging from film soundtracks to opera arias. The orchestra is recognised for its excellence in symphonic pop rock and presents performances that include the most beautiful opera arias.

Diego Basso, as sole conductor, accompanies the Italian Rhythmic Symphony Orchestra in concerts in Italy's most prestigious squares, in national and international theatres, and in television productions. In collaboration with the voices of the Art Voice Academy, the maestro brings to the stage songs by the English rock group, rearranged for rhythmic symphony orchestra, including rock anthems such as "Bohemian Rhapsody", "We Will Rock You", and "We Are the Champions", along with emotional love songs such as "Somebody to Love" and "These are the Days of Our Lives", culminating in the enthralling "The Show Must Go On".
