About

The history of Cimiano Calcio began in 1957, when Battista Alberini, Camillo Pasta, Gerardo Aventino, Oreste Rescalli and Carlo Filisetti founded the Polisportiva Cimiano. Football arrived in 1970 and became increasingly important: in 1981 Cimiano appeared on the FIGC scene.

In the 1980s, a key figure joined the red and white club: Luigi Gino Maldera, a former Milan player, who laid the foundations for the club's affiliation with Milan. The collaboration with AC Milan was defined as didactic: the main protagonist was Francesco Zagatti, a Rossoneri flagman who played the role of sports educator in Cimiano, capable of enchanting everyone with his wisdom and charisma.

At the end of 1993, the Province of Milan assigned an area of 30,000 sq m to Cimiano, where the new sports centre would be built in 1995. This is not enough: the facilities in Cimiano are expanded by another 25,000 sq m.

1999 is the year of recognitions: the FIGC awards a certificate of merit, the Province of Milan places the Gold Medal (Premio Isimbardi) around the club's neck to underline the importance of the biancorosso project on youth sport.

The new millennium opened with the Lombardy regional title won in the Giovanissimi category. The president changed: Agostino Malavasi became the club's number one and decided to bring in Rossoneri journalist Tiziano Crudeli, who took on the role of vice-president and took care of relations with AC Milan. In 2005, a fire destroyed a large part of the sports centre, but the board of directors decided not to abandon the club: Cimiano rose again. In 2010, on the occasion of its 40th anniversary, the club received the 'Rosa Camuna', the highest award of the Lombardy Region.

In 2018, Sportland arrived, a leading company in amateur football and willing to invest in amateur and youth football. The goal of the new owners is to confirm Cimiano's position in the elite of the Milanese scene, raising quality standards wherever possible. The new course opens with the election of Federico Galli as president.
